Positive Thinking

by Luis Henry
Category : Self Improvement & Motivation

Maintaining positive thoughts is something anyone can do. Many people who decide to harness the power of positive thinking have read books describing the wonderful effects they can achieve and have become very excited by the things they discovered. The problem can start from day one when the newly hatched positive thinker first tries to feel inwardly positive and grateful. This is understandable: his reason for reading about positive thinking and deciding to use it was born out of a desire for improvement or maybe a longing to change unhappy circumstances. For most people unfortunately, negative thinking is more common than positive thinking. Most people through the day have a lot more negative thoughts about themselves, their situations, or their workplace, than positive thoughts.

The way to change this is to try to be more deliberate in your thoughts. Like trying to break any bad habits it takes time. Try to monitor your thoughts through the day, and as soon as you catch yourself thinking negatively about a situation you must stop yourself and try to come up with some positive thoughts. Harnessing the power of positive thinking together with taking massive actions will bring you closer to success. When you start taking actions to overcome your obstacles that lie in between you and your success requires a lot of energy.

I believe you must have heard people telling you to have positive thinking in order to succeed in life. I’m a firm believer of that as well. Using positive affirmations is a powerful positive thinking technique that you can use effectively in countering the negative beliefs that may be regularly sabotaging your attempts to live a happier and more fulfilled life. Affirmations are a statement of what you want or how you intend your life to be. Affirmations should be positive affirmations, meaning they should be about what you want, not on what you don’t want.

Positive affirmations are positive statements that you can repeat regularly to yourself or leave around on cards where you will regularly see them. There is a bit of a knack to creating them; they must be positive, in the present tense and state something that you want. Positive affirmations are more than just repeating words. It is a whole process of becoming aware of your thoughts and words in everyday life. Developing small but positive changes in your attitude can have a massive impact on your success.
