Chihuahua dogs is the world's smallest breed of dog. Chihuahua is a tiny dog, averaging no more than 6 to 9 inches (15 to 23 cm) in height and 2 to 12 pounds (1 to 6 kg) in weight. Chihuahua has a relatively big head, outgoing eyes, an often grumpy expression and very large ears. Their fur coat is long and smooth, with colors ranging between black, white, tan, spotted, blue, silver and chocolate. The American Kennel Club recognizes two different varieties of Chihuahuas. These are the long-coat and the smooth-coat Chihuahua. Many smooth-coat Chihuahuas have very thin hair.
It is a mystery of how this little breed of dog originated. Many experts have suggested that the Chihuahua came to America with the Spanish armies of Hernando Corte around the year 1519. Other experts believe that the Chihuahua has been around since the ninth century. These experts believe that the Chihuahua was breed by the Toltecs of Mexico. This type of dog received its name from the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. But some scholars believe the Chihuahua to be descended from Chinese hairless dogs-which may have crossed over from Asia to Alaska on a land bridge before continental separation created the Bering Strait and breed with the ancient Techichi dog, creating the modern-day Chihuahua.
Very small dogs also can't handle cold weather very well either. The little dogs don't have enough body mass, and fat in particular, to stay warm in really cold weather. The lifespan of a Chihuahua lies between 8 too 22 years, which is a lot compared to other dog breeds. Some common health issues include luxating patella, entropion, dental problem, heart problems, trachea problems, low blood sugars, sensitivity to chemicals and medications, and open fontanel. They can also have genetic anomalies such as epilepsy and seizure.
Chihuahua is a good pet dog because of its bravery, enterprise, and enthusiasm. Stout and strong is the reality, but mild-mannered and weak is the general impression. Their curious nature and small size make them easily adaptable to a variety of environments, including the city and small apartments. Chihuahuas are usually intelligent and independent by nature.
Chihuahua requires very little grooming. They tend to eat twice a day so make sure that the feeding bowl is filled with foods always. Provide plenty of fresh water as well. Dog food is simple to make. The best dog foods include a meat protein, a starch, and a vegetable. By combining these three elements, any owner can make home-cooked meals for their Chihuahua. All ingredients should be cooked before feeding them to your dog.
