Playtime - Effective playtime for children

A trend in our modern society is turn our children’s’ days into huge routines of organized, adult-led extracurricular activities like piano course, gymnastics class, tee-ball games, and dance recitals along with other time consuming functions and commitments. My newspaper reports that we're taking playtime and recess away from young students and shifting that time to intense programs. Children need playtime to relate to knowledge. They need time to explore their own creativity. Just as important, they need to learn teamwork and socialization skills. These skills are increasingly ignored as we single-mindedly prepare kids for The Tests.
To make children playtime effectively, then let them take their sweet time to enjoy an activity. One of the great benefits of uninterrupted playtime is the expansion your child's attention span and ability to stay focused. Your child is interested and stays interested because she is exploring something. She's figuring it out. She's making connections and advancing her understanding. If they are forced to rush through a game or sport then it may not be so enjoyable and the experience may start to go wrong. Your child comes completely prepared to absorb the wonderful benefit of playtime.
Use the subjects they are interested in as a way of encouraging them to play other activities. Don't force children to conform to social rules. Expression in their way will help them feel comfortable which a good way to play is. You can force a child to play a certain way or do a certain activity if they don't want to. Encourage them of course, but if they really don't want to do something then don't force them.
Finding new playtime activities can be a challenge for any parent when it seems you've done every activity in the book. New playtime activities are more numerous than you may think. These can be done indoors, but can also be changed into outdoor activities if needed. Great resources to find new ideas are child-related websites. Go to a few different websites and jot down a list of ideas to always have on hand. You may think finding new activities is a challenge, but use the resources available and then be creative. The most important part is to just have fun with your kids.
