All About Object Marketing

by Lynne Saarte | Marketing and Promotion > Switch Category
Ever heard of “object marketing”? If not, then this is your lucky day. Because reading this article can help you a great deal in making your marketing efforts, whether you choose to employ brochure printing or full color hang tags, to achieve the outcome you’re looking for.

Object marketing is a marketing strategy that provides you with strong marketing tools such as your print brochures that apply the power of the word “free”. Free gifts, freebies, promotional items for free, discounts and free samples – in other words, anything that’s given away without any payment. So who would not want that? Surely not you, me or even your target clients. Especially when it’s sent directly to your mailbox or even your doorstep.

To make it more simple, what object marketing suggests is that you apply certain words such as “free” to your marketing message in your brochure printing for example, with the end purpose of making a sale. It is making sure that your business letter passes the dragon-secretary or the over-discriminating eye of the CEO so you get their attention; enough to make them consider your proposition. The bottom line being that you put forth something of value to your target clients that it will not be easy for them to throw your marketing tool right away.

Object marketing therefore is about you linking your message to a particular object that would make it easier for you to sell your proposition to your target clients. You are selling a “light bulb moment” that they would realize that what you are offering is something that they’re looking for a very long time. Your offer is actually what they want.

But first, you need to offer something different and unique that would catch the eyes of your target clients. Because when you do, then it would be easy enough for you to market your message.

The key then to successful object marketing is to complement your message with the right object. Your choice would also determine the budget you will have for your marketing strategy. So if your purpose is to attract a select group of high-end customers, then it would be easy for you to justify a much higher investment.

This means then that you should work closely with your target clients in mind. What you have for your message and object should be matched to what your target clients are looking for. As long as it matches your market, it would not be difficult for you to get their attention.
