5 Elements Of A Professional Brochure

by Lynne Saarte | Marketing and Promotion > Switch Category
When printing brochures, here are the different elements you need to work on in order for you to have the most professional brochure printing in the market.

1. Design
You have to create a design that would be appropriate to the market you are targeting. This means then that you have to take into consideration who your target readers are, as well as the purpose behind your brochure printing. Even the best looking designs would be worth nil if you do not have any objective behind creating one for your print brochures. Try to remember that the bulk of your design work would be centered on objectives and your target audience, not necessarily on the graphics. So be sure to get your two most important factors clear before working on your design.

2. Images
One graphic image is worth ten good ones, as what one designer said. By keeping your images to a few, you are making your brochure printing more clear and powerful as not everyone will be able to read your content. But they would surely be seeing your images at the cover. If you do not have the budget to hire a professional photographer then we suggest you use stock imagery available online for your snapshots.

3. Text
In addition to your graphics, what you apply to your text is also important to the overall impact that your print brochures will have on your target audience. In addition to deciding what colors to apply, what graphics to highlight and what pictures to use, your text (including the choice of fonts) can make or break how your target audience would accept your print collateral. Using more than two fonts is a disaster because it can only make it harder for your readers to comprehend fully your message. Use more readable fonts that when applied to smaller sizes would not alter the way your target readers would understand your message. But before you reduce the size of your fonts, consider decreasing your words first.

4. Cover
Your brochure would not be the only marketing tool out in the market. In fact, your print brochures would be competing with hundreds and thousands of other marketing collaterals. Hence, your brochure should be able to scream “Get me! Read me!” every time. In as few words as possible, get your point across. Your cover would be the one thing that would make your target readers pick up your brochure in a rack or from their mailer. Use images that will strike their curiosity and make sure that your pictures are vibrant and intriguing to grab their interest. Your cover has only one job – to entice people to pick up your collateral.

5. Value
Finally, the only way your target clients would want to pick up your brochure is if it has any value to them. Information alone is not enough. You need to give your target audience a reason to pick it up, read it, and then keep it. If it contains something that they may use later on, then you are able to provide your business with a powerful marketing tool that can help you generate leads, which will eventually make you realize the results you want for your business.
