Back To The Basics Of Printing Brochures

by Lynne Saarte | Marketing and Promotion > Switch Category
When brochure printing, there is one very important thing you need to learn to have an effective one: stick to the basics. Before even thinking of creating unusual and unique brochures that defy the standard procedures, it would be to your benefit to learn first how to print brochures based on the basic rules of printing brochures.

Here are the most basic design elements for a professional brochure print:

What is out there? What kinds of brochures are already out in the market? What are your target clients used to seeing from your competition and other businesses? By collecting and studying what is already present in your locale or community, you can then create for yourself a design that is more appealing and interesting that would make your target clients go for your offer.

Who is your audience? Who would you want to reach out to? How do you want your message to reach them? By choosing the design you use for your brochure, you will be able to set the theme and voice that would appeal to the right audience, as well as make your message crystal clear.

Less is more. Always remember the most basic design principle – the more you do less, the more your design and message would be understood by your target audience. Include just the most essential and necessary information in your print brochure. And arrange the elements based on the most important to the least. Make sure that you are clear about what is most crucial in your brochure so that your message would be well understood by your target readers.

White space. White space is used to create a relationship between your contents and the pages you have in your brochure. By adjusting the white space you have, you are putting forward the most important information that you would want your target readers to focus on. One expert marketer put it more clearly – the white space is like a person shouting in a noisy room. He would get more attention when the room becomes quiet. Your word or message would have a better chance of being understood well when the page stops being too busy for the target readers eyes.

Keep it simple and sweet. Remember KISS? Always keep in mind to keep your brochure simple that your target readers don’t have a hard time understanding the most important element in your marketing tool – your message. Do not clutter your design with too many elements. It would only confuse your target readers. Include only what you need and refrain from being too excited with designing your brochure that it comes out gaudy and confusing.

Step back, relax and proofread. Finally, be sure to proofread your brochure printing. This is the most important and last step you have to make for your print brochure. To prevent from paying more than what you can afford, be sure to edit and correct your final design before you have your print brochures printed. Because once you run them to press, you will not have any way to change any element unless you do everything from the beginning.
