Watch for your image and graphic qualities
Lots of color posters get produced with images that are fuzzy or have bad resolutions. When you see a poster like that, this means that the designer used a low resolution, low quality image in the poster design. This is a crucial thing to prevent with your own posters.
You can easily prevent this from happening by simply checking the resolution of your image poster images. Usually it is best to use your own photographs taken from a high resolution digital camera, or from a high resolution scan of a picture. This should make sure that the image will always look clear even if you manipulate it or scale it down for poster printing.
Watch out for bad font mixes
You should also look out for bad font mixes. Sometimes, designers combine different fonts to form a good poster message. The trouble is, during the holidays some can get a bit TOO creative and use some very fantastic and often unreadable fonts that do not fit with other text. You should prevent this from happening by only using one font for your poster message. This can hamper your message making the poster difficult to understand. You can prevent this from happening by using a few special techniques such as adding shadow effects, glow effects or even color strokes to your text to emphasize the text more. Just look for these special features in your design software.
Those are the three major things you should watch out for in poster printing during the holidays. These mistakes can really be detrimental to the final look and impact of your full color posters. Try to solve these problems as early as possible so that you will have less problems in the future.
