Tea: The endless health benefits

For thousands of years, the health benefits of tea have been well known. Tea is currently the second most consumed drink in the world and its increasing health benefits are a clear indication why its popularity is growing. One of the most famous variant of tea is green tea.

So what is it about green tea that makes it so beneficial? There are primarily four types of antioxidants, plus many other healing nutrients that are found in green tea. Vitamin C, which containing 10 times more than black teas, vitamin B2, vitamin D, vitamin K, carotenoids and beta-carotene. And the most important is polyphenols.

Polyphenols are a group of natural phytochemicals or plant chemicals. More specifically they are found in plants. Their purpose appears to be a potent, natural antioxidant. There are many plants that we consume that contain polyphenols. Concentrations are high in olive oil and green Tea. These antioxidants eliminate free radicals, unstable molecules that are the major cause of both aging and disease. Free radicals are a normal product of metabolism and result in a process called oxidation.

Research has suggested that daily tea consumption can potentially aid the body in many ways such as:

-  Boosting the Immune System
-  Detoxifies your body
-  Lowering cholesterol and blood pressure

Many people already drinking green tea realize they are drinking an all natural healing remedy that has been used for thousands of years. Green tea health benefits are endless. The best way to reap the many health benefits tea provides is to make it a part of your daily lifestyle.
